Welcome to Psychology, a primary class (not to be confused with your other distraction classes...more on this later).
Semester 1 -
Psychology 1 - Brain, Mind and Behavior
In this introductory psychology class, we will study topics ranging from Behaviorism, Memory, the Brain & Neuropsych, to Social Psychology, and of course, the experimental method. We'll study some famous, and not-so-famous psychological experiments, and then send you out into the 'field' to conduct and report on your own experiments. You'll keep a weekly journal in which you reflect on what we have discussed and learned in class, perhaps seeing parallels to things you have seen, read or heard about, or experienced in your own life (with friends, family, at work, etc.). Finally, we'll use film to illustrate many of the concepts explored, and challenge you to not only identify these connections but to suggest methods to apply these in ways that would improve your life, school, etc.
